Girls Launch! Program Presents on Science Topics to Kindergarteners

Faculty members Vanessa Diaz and Sam Kempker-Margherio, and psychology graduate students Madeline Netto and Sahar Hafezi visited three kindergarten classrooms at Eastern Elementary in Giles County.

VT Psychology Faculty Represent Clinical Science Program at ABCT

VT Psychology had seven faculty members and one clinical student at ABCT in Seattle from November 16 - 19. Heather Davis, Meagan Brem, Rosanna Breaux, and Sam Kempker-Margherio represented the Clinical Science program at the Graduate School Meet and Greet.

Pearl Chiu Awarded the Patricia Caldwell Faculty Fellowship

The Department of Psychology would like to recognize Professor Pearl Chiu for being awarded the Patricia Caldwell Faculty Fellowship by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. Chiu has been a member of the Virginia Tech faculty since 2010 and is also a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, where she focuses on how brain function and decision

New River Anglers Host Successful Autism Awareness Fishing Tournament Fundraiser

The Virginia Tech Autism Clinic is recognizing the New River Anglers and Camper Retreats for hosting a successful Autism Awareness fishing tournament fundraiser in Galax, Virginia on Saturday, September 23rd. VT Psychology Graduate Students Participate in “Flip the Fair”

“Flip the Fair” is a science fair event in which graduate students are able to share presentations about their research methods and findings with the 5th graders of Roanoke City Public Schools. The intention is to provide a professional development opportunity for graduate-level researchers to gain confidence in their presentation skills while simultaneously empowering and sparking interest in nearly 200 elementary school
