New River Anglers Host Successful Autism Awareness Fishing Tournament Fundraiser

The Virginia Tech Autism Clinic is recognizing the New River Anglers and Camper Retreats for hosting a successful Autism Awareness fishing tournament fundraiser in Galax, Virginia on Saturday, September 23rd. VTAC would also like to thank New River Outdoor Adventures for hosting the camping and tournament activities, as well as Grumpaw’s Tackle for their support and assistance in making it all happen.

VTAC faculty member Jen Scott drove the Mobile Autism Clinic to the event and was able to share information and resources with the small but mighty community who showed up despite the cold and rainy weather. Scott states, “The event was so meaningful and we deeply appreciate the connections made within this warm group of parents, autistic individuals, and advocates.” VTCAR is looking forward to being back there in April for their now yearly fundraising event.
