Mental Health Challenges for Some Students Returning to In-Person Learning

Dr. Rosanna Breaux, assistant professor of Psychology and director of the Child Study Center at Virginia Tech, recently conducted studies that focused on children's mental health during the pandemic and their classroom performance. Based on that data, Breaux says that teachers may start to notice a greater amount of students suffering from anxiety, depression, irritability, and even aggression. Read more now.  

IO Faculty Member Receives Funding for Project

Louis Hickman received funding for his project entitled "Automatic Scoring of Interpersonal Assessment Center" from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.  The project capitalizes on recent advances in text mining and machine learning (ML) to investigate the possibility of automating Assessment Center scoring and to examine specific factors that predict when ML models are likely to be accurate

New IO Faculty Member's Article Published in Journal of Applied Psychology

Louis Hickman, Ph.D., recently had an article published in Journal of Applied Psychology. The article titled, "Automated Video Interview Personality Assessments: Reliability, Validity, and Generalizability Investigations"  was highlighted in a recent post, "Using Computers to Assess Video Interviews: Does it Work?"
