Ivan Hernandez and Ph.D. alum Weiwen Nie, along with Joseph Meyer, won the Society for Industrial and Organizational Society (SIOP) Machine Learning (ML) competition. The goal of the competition was to use natural language processing to predict evaluator scores of text-based responses from job candidates. 28 teams across the US and internationally competed in the challenge.
