Dr. McDonnell was recently recognized for receiving the International Society for Autism Research's Young Investigator Award, an award given to an outstanding early career researcher for contributions to autism research. The Young Investigator Awards are granted annually for the best empirical research papers published or in press in the year 2018 by an investigator who has been awarded their Ph.D. or M.D. in the past seven years. These awards offer a stipend of $1,500.
