Short Bio
**Dr. Hudson will be accepting a graduate student for the 2025-2026 academic year (application deadline: December 1, 2024)

The primary focus of Dr. Hudson’s research is on understanding how we process the thoughts and emotions of ourselves and others, with a particular focus on how these processes are implicated in mental illness. Dr. Hudson’s work bridges domains of clinical science, cognitive science, human development, and social psychology using dimensional and transdiagnostic approaches to answer the following overarching research questions:

- How do individual differences in mental state processing impact our daily lives and how we function in society?
- Is mental state processing fixed or can it be changed over time? Are changes implicated in psychotherapy outcomes?
- What is the factor structure of mental state processing abilities? That is, which processes should be distinguished and which are interrelated?
- How can we reliably assess mental state processing?
