The team won funding from Virginia Tech's Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science for "Towards a Global Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Exploring and Assessing Intercultural Ethical Perspectives on AI."
This is related to research on which Qin Zhu and Rockwell are working, developing infrastructures for tracking global "ethical perspectives" - implicit and explicit concerns about right and wrong, including values, judgments, and priorities - regarding the development and use of AI and machine learning.
