The Psychology Department welcomed 24 guests (10 faculty, 14 undergraduates) as part of the VT-HBCU/MSI Research Summit held Oct 13-14 in Blacksburg. The guests represented Bowie State, Fayetteville State, Morgan State, and Virginia State universities. Guest faculty met with current VT faculty from each of our graduate training areas to explore collaborative research opportunities. Guest students met with the graduate director, graduate students, and individual VT faculty to learn about possibilities for graduate study in the Department. The previous day, guests took part in University-level events which encouraged partnerships and collaborations. The Department’s participation reflects our continuing effort to strengthen our scholarship and training in psychological science, and to create a more diverse and inclusive environment.
