The Roles of Autobiographical Storytelling for Understanding One's Self, One's Family, and One's Place in the World.
Humans are natural storytellers. We come to use life stories to make sense of daily experiences, share insights and lessons with others, make connections between our many experiences to understand who we are as individuals, and make sense of the many challenges and opportunities life throws at us. His talk will address some of the ways autobiographical narratives and life stories can be used to systematically address basic and applied questions in identity and well-being across multiple developmental periods.
